An argument because of an arranged marriage leads to a series of romantic confusions. Hermia was betrothed to Dimitrio but loves Lysander. The two of them plan to escape into the forest, where a theater troupe is also passing through, to rehearse their show. Both the lovers and the actors will be the victims of the tricks of Puck, inhabitant of the forest. MICHAEL HOFFMAN Sua devoção a esta peça vem da época de estudante de teatro na cidade natal de Idaho, EUA, onde ele chegou a fazer o papel de Lysander. É um dos fundadores do Festival Shakespeare de Idaho, para o qual está construindo um anfiteatro. Dos seus oito filmes, é conhecido no Brasil por O Outro Lado da Nobreza (1995). Realizou também as comédias One Fine Day, Soapdish e Some Girls. Hoffman’s devotion to this play stems back to when he was a theater student in his hometown of Idaho, USA, where he played the part of Lysander. He is one of the founders of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, for which he is constructing an amphitheater. Of his eight films, he is best known in Brazil for Restoration (1995). He has also made the comedies One Fine Day, Soapdish and Some Girls.
