Adaptação de um sucesso recente do teatro argentino. O texto de Mauricio Dayub – um dos atores do filme – ocupa-se de dois perdedores que partem em busca de um sonho. ‘El Pájaro’ aspira a bater o recorde de permanência sobre uma bicicleta, cerca de 30 horas. Lopecito, ex-dançarino de tango que se machucou no palco, vai auxiliar o amigo nos subúrbios de uma cidade de província. Adaptation of a recent hit in Argentinean theatre by Mauricio Dayub, one of the actors in the film. It’s the story of two losers who set out in pursuit of a dream. ‘El Pájaro’ wants to break the record for riding a bycicle: about 30 hours. Lopecito, an ex-tango dancer who fell down on stage, tries to help his friend in the suburbs of a provincial town.
JUAN BAUTISTA STAGNARO Foi roteirista de dois grandes sucessos internacionais do cinema argentino, Camila e Miss Mary, dirigidos por Maria Luisa Bemberg. Seu filme El Camino del Sur (1988) foi exibido no FestRio de 1988, mas nenhum de seus trabalhos de direção foi lançado comercialmente no Brasil. Antes de Amateur, realizou Casas de Fuego (1994) e La Furia (1998). É pai do diretor Bruno Stagnaro (Pizza, Cerveja, Cigarro). Stagnaro wrote the screenplays for two big international hits from Argentina, Camila and Miss Mary, both directed by Maria Luisa Bemberg. His film Journey to the South (1988) was shown at 1988 FestRio, but none of his works has been released in Brazil. Before making The Amateur, he directed Houses of Fire (1994) and La Furia (1998). He is the father of Bruno Stagnaro, the director of Pizza, Booze, Smoke.
