One of them, François, after cutting himself off from the world, then cuts himself off from his closest friends and his girlfriend. Born in Melle, France, the director is 38 years old and attracted friendly attention with his short Tous à la Manif, which won the Special Prize at Pantin in l994, the main prize at the Belfort Film Festival in l994 and the Jean Vigo Prize in l995. Jeux de Plage (Special Jury Prize at Belfort in l995) established his personal idiosyncratic style and a powerful sense of observation and detail.
